Teen Orthodontic Treatment
Most orthodontic treatment happens between the ages of 11 and 15. By this point, the permanent teeth have all come in, making it easy to diagnose bite problems. Because so many teens undergo orthodontic treatment, it isn't hard to convince kids between these ages to wear braces -- it's considered completely normal, and it can even feel "cool" to wear braces during the teen years. Bite problems rarely go away on their own over time, so if we detect problems during these early years, it's best to pursue treatment and not wait.
Few people realize that a teen's high metabolism can mean shorter treatment times, too.
